高雄市政府宣布啟動「空氣盒子」計畫，與中央研究院、民間科技公司合作，在高雄二四二所國小建置空氣盒子，隨時監控PM2.5數值；相關資料也對外開放，民眾可透過App掌握空氣品質。
空氣盒子 EdiGreen AirBox 計畫已和台北市、新北市、台中市、台南市和高雄市等政府機關合作，讓監測範圍能夠遍佈於我們生活的各個城市角落，因此在偵測結果的準確、即時性會更貼近真實，相較於行政院環保署的「空氣品質監測網」來說，空氣盒子收集空氣品質的監測密度更高也更為密集。
