為整合中央氣象局、經濟部水利署及農委會水土保持局所提供氣象、雨量、水情、潮位及土石流等即時資訊，高雄市政府水利局於101年建置水情中心並開發水情應變資訊系統，透過即時演算分析預先監測及推估易淹水地區，提供有效的防災應變決策支援資訊。本項水情中心應變資訊系統在成立後，經多次颱風豪雨考驗，確保達到自主防災避災之目標。
