สดช. ได้ศึกษาการจัดทำภาพฉายอนาคต (Scenario Foresight) เพื่อคาดการณ์สถานการณ์เศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลของประเทศ เพื่อสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่อาจจะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคต พร้อมทั้งเตรียมการทั้งทางด้านนโยบายและด้านบุคลากรในภาครัฐที่เกี่ยวข้องให้พร้อมกับทุก ๆ สถานการณ์ที่อาจเกิดขึ้น โดยได้ดำเนินการทั้งสิ้น 2 ระยะ ตั้งแต่ปี 2563 - 2564

โดยในระยะปี 2563 ได้วิเคราะห์ภาพฉายอนาคตเป็น 3 มิติ ได้แก่

  • Platform Economy

  • Silver Economy

  • Stay at home Economy

และในปี 2564 ได้ศึกษาวิเคราะห์ภาพฉายอนาคตในมิติ

  • ความสามารถในการปรับตัวใช้ประโยชน์จากเทคโนโลยีดิจิทัล
